"We all have different desires and needs,
but if we don't discover what we want from ourselves
and what we stand for,
we will live passively and unfulfilled."

TWIRL
Saturday, August 29 | 6:13 AM

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!

Tomato flavoured twirls with chocolate bits freshly baked in the school kitchen by boys.
It's nice to have kids surprise you when they offer you their exploits from the Home Economics cooking lessons.

Chocolate coloured twirl laced with cinamon and coffee colourings in a spread of fresh greens - freshly baked by Sprite.
Well, Sprite really did a SURPRISE with her largest download to date!

curtain call
Friday, August 28 | 3:03 PM

Farewell to the great Deborah Gan - probably the best music teacher my school has ever had (and probably the best I've ever come across) as she leaves to further her studies abroad. It is sad too because no one is available to take over her power music curriculum for the lower secondary boys. So some might say, is this the final curtain call for music enrichment for the school? Only time will tell...

I ran
Sunday, August 23 | 9:39 PM

I ran to the forest. I ran to the trees. I ran and I ran.

I ran to the lake. Up to the hills. I ran and I ran.

I ran to the cemetery. I held my breath.

I thought about your death.

I turn my feelings into stone.

I tasted the rain. I tasted my tears.

I cursed the angels. I tasted my fears.

And the ground gave way beneath my feet.

And the earth took me in her arms.

Sir...
Wednesday, August 19 | 3:24 PM

Sir, what's with the socks?

I grabbed the socks from the bag and wore them only in the vehicle while the traffic lights were red. Little did I realise that they were different, until a kid in school pointed it out to me.

blue for me
Tuesday, August 18 | 5:23 PM

Carrick, Ireland
15 June 2009

I always love using blue in my artwork when I was young - blue skies, blue ocean and the blue eyes of Caucasian kids. Call it my escape which began in my primal days, this affinity with clear blue waters has been my constant source of peace and quiet.

RED RED RED
Monday, August 17 | 11:21 PM

I'm hardly so patriotic!

Wearing red just to get that 44% percent discount for this National Day buffet at Orchard Hotel on the nation's 44th birthday.

It's been a long while since we took a picture together as a family.

quizzical
Sunday, August 16 | 6:40 AM

Juliet The Orange

Who doesn't love a quirky girl? But that is a farcry from today's call by the media to keep every strand of hair, every inch of makeup, every ceramic nail - in that right place so that the individual female stays in perfect symmetry and control. The game of perfectionism has taken the spontaneity and fun out of life, not just in the looks department.

Enjoy the old-fashion romance in the simpler animated style!

Carrick
Friday, August 14 | 10:24 AM

15 June 2009
Carrick Rope, Ireland

We arrived at Carrick Rope only to be told that the attraction was shut temporarily to evacuate a woman who had met with an accident along the trek.

That did not deter us from returning about 2 hours later. And as you can see below, and in the next couple of days, the scenery was mindblowing.

I just love rope-bridges. Jumping on them with others on it was part of the thrill of course!

I don't eat this
Monday, August 10 | 5:16 PM

WARNING
The following images may not be appetizing to some...

...but it is lunch to others.

I was quite grossed out really when I came across the sight (7/6/09) at Sheng Siong Supermarket.

On a more current note, I'm contemplating trying guinea pigs - fried ones - a delicacy of one of the countries I'll be heading to at the end of the year. In the meantime, I have to learn some Spanish and Portuguse somehow...

Singapore's very own drummer boy, Ethan Ong (10), beat 51 other junior hopefuls to clinch the coveted championship position in the junior drum category at the 4th National Youth Percussion Instrument Competition in Shanghai, China.

Read the full report here.

PS - I trashed him in tabletennis though! :)

These hounds are huge. I was at the driver's seat when I took this picture. On their fours, they are almost just towering over the top of the car I was in.

I was glad I went.
The memories,
the blessings of past 20 years;
perhaps less than 10 personally.
I pray this be
a new chapter;
a new beginning.
