Croagh Patrick

18 June 2009 We took a hike up Croagh Patrick. The destination is the tip that is surrounded by clouds. The path is strewn with rocks. The 3 brave climbers. Near the summit, we experienced a whiteout when the clouds descended upon the mountain. On top of that, there were 2 bouts of sudden rain which lasted about ten to fifteen minutes each. One of these sudden showers was accompanied by a brief session of hail and a mud slide followed after. All the while, while we wound numerous times around the mountain to get to the top, the icy winds blew ferociously and beat at our poor Asian bodies unaccustomed to the cold.
At the summit, I am practically leaning against continual blasts of winds. I repeat, LEANING BACK without support! That's how strong the winds are!Labels: Ireland, trip, wordless wednesday
