I was just teaching a S1 (first year) class a Getting-Your-Attention routine. They responded very well except for one individual who was distracted despite several reminders. After singling him out and reminding him of the appropriate behaviour, I asked for his name.
His response? - Stanley.
I did not know whether to laugh or to cry then. But I burst out laughing anyway. Some kids guessed right away what my name is before I had even introduced myself fully to them.
